SUIT ONE Sculpture
Hand cut, rolled and folded aluminium sheet riveted to a spot-welded, steal lattice posterior frame.
Inspired by Japanese paper folding and ceremonial war suits, this sculpture was developed in accordance to an open brief entitled 'On or From the Body – Body Adornment'.
When confronted with such a topic, one might commonly consider jewellery or tattooing as their subject, however, as demonstrated throughout the history of traditional armour production, the idea of adorning the wearer was as important as protecting them.
